He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, G.W. and Brenda Roark of Sparta; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Marciano Martinez of Crumpler, Darlene and George Lira of Morgantown and Lisa and Antonio Gonzalez of Laurel Springs; two special friends, Donna Sumner and Rosetta Edwards, both of Galax; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his great love of 61 years, his wife, Opal M. Mitchell of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Corinda M. and Stanley Weatherman, Lynelle Mitchell and Phillip Foster and Twana M. and Toney Campbell, all of Statesville; six grandchildren, Lyndy Davidson, Ronna Jo Stroud, Sha Weatherman, the Rev. Corey Mitchell, Drake Campbell and Tanner Campbell; five great-grandchildren, Adam Davidson, Ashton Davidson, Andrew Davidson, Hayden Stroud and Hudson Stroud; one sister and brother-in-law, Racene and John D.
