Years after serving our country during World War II, two veterans—along with a guardian and fellow serviceman—went to Washington last month to visit memorials.
Going on the April 10 trip were J.T. Pardue, Charles "Charlie" Pugh and guardian Everett Dukes. Pardue served in the Marine Corps, serving from 1941 to 1945. Pugh served from December 1943 to May 1946 and was at Pearl Harbor when the atomic bombs were dropped on Japan, subsequently ending the war. Dukes served in the military from 1954 to 1958.
