Richardson is named Piney Creek's Principal
Ashe County resident Sheila Richardson took the helm of Piney Creek School earlier this month. She succeeds Mike Edwards who retired after four-and-a-half years as the school's principal.
While this is the first time she has served as principal, Richardson has been in the education field for some time.
She attended Gardner-Webb and attained a bachelor's degree from Appalachian, and later attained a master's in library science and a second master's in school administration. After working for three years in Union County, she took a hiatus to work at a bank in Charlotte, and later returned to teaching. Mrs.. Richardson has taught in Wilkes, Watauga and Ashe counties, most recently serving as assistant principal at Ashe County Middle School.
