'Courtly' Christmas Tree

CHRISTMAS TREE—Christmas seemed a little closer last Thursday when Alleghany County maintenance crew teamed up with Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation staff to place a Fraser fir on the Courthouse lawn. Matt Souther of Blue Ridge Electric (left) and County Maintenance Director Larry Davis are shown stringing lights on the tree, donated by Randal and Kimberly Sides Nursery in Twin Oaks. The lights on the tree will be turned on during a ceremony on Nov. 27 at 6 p.m.
