Piney Creek youth gives in honor of her mother

At the age of 11, Piney Creek sixth grader Patricia "Trish" Hampton has lived the life of an adult, having to help her ailing mother since she was diagnosed with cancer when she was only eight years old.

Unfortunately, her mother lost her long battle on May 2.

When asked to talk about herself, Trish was very modest, shying away from some questions, allowing parents Robert and Patricia "Pat" to help provide answers. The youth recently donated more than 10 inches of her dark locks to Locks of Love.
