JCPC holds a meeting for applicants tonight
The Alleghany County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) would like to announce the availability of $60,700.00 in intervention and prevention funds for services to delinquent youth and those at risk of delinquency.
The JCPC funds require a local match of 20 percent of the funds received. Cash match can be provided by Alleghany County. The availability of funds is contingent upon N.C. State Legislature appropriations.
Applications are being sought for the following services:
• Parent and Family Skills;
• Interpersonal Skills;
• Tutoring and Academic En-hancement;
• Mediation, Restitution and Community Service;
• Psychological Assessment;
• Counseling;
• Substance Abuse Treat-ment;
• Group Home; and
• Temporary Shelter.
All eligible applicants must be a non-profit corporation, local public agency and/or a local housing authority.
A mandatory training session for all applicants will be held Feb. 11, 2009 at 1:15 p.m. at the Alleghany County Board of Education conference room.
