Entertainment Committe Sponsors Rook Tournament

Rook®—The Alleghany Sesquicentennial Entertainment Committee held a Rook® tournament as a fund-raiser at the Alleghany Jubillee at 25 North Main Street in Sparta.

Shown in photo below left are (from left) Jim Burchett, Jean Osborne, Ernest Joines and Carlene Absher. Osborne and Absher took first place in the event.

In the photo below right (from left), Raymond McMillian, Lorene Atwood, Bessie Ann Trail and Bill Estep face off in a match. Atwood and Estep took second place, while McMillian and Trail took third. Another tournament will be held Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. The entry fee is $5 per person.
