Transfer facility changes planned

Due to repairs planned on the county's scales at the transfer facility on Osborne Road, most customers will be asked to use a different entrance beginning Dec. 1.

Annual food drive is under way in county

The 14th annual Friends Feeding Friends Drive kicked off Nov. 5 in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia to help collect food for those less fortunate.

Sheets is named parade grand marshal

This year's Christmas on the Mountain-themed parade will feature George Sheets as its grand marshal.
