Hernandez trial is continued again
May faces additional charges

An Alleghany man who already was facing statutory rape charges, now faces a charge of solicitation to commit murder, according to the District Attorney's Office.
The solicitation charge and other additional charges were filed against Henry Mason May II during last week's session of Alleghany Criminal Superior Court.
The session, held Aug. 11 through Aug. 13, was presided over by Edgar B. Gregory. The prosecutors during the session were Tom E. Horner, Assistant District Attorney John W. Sherrill and Assistant District Attorney Stacy Adams.
In other court action, the murder trial of Enrique Hernandez, also known as Enrique Hernandez Soto, was continued until Oct. 13. Soto, is charged in the July 2006 murder of then 18-year-old Amy Devon Reese at the residence of her mother in Sparta. He also is facing escape charges for an incident that took place in June 2007 when he and another inmate, Jeremy Lee Ebersole, overpowered a jailer and took his keys.

According to court documents, during the recent session, May pled not guilty to charges of solicitation to commit murder, obstructing justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
