Evans, Sparta jewelry business stalwart, dies

A long-time fixture in the community and a jewelry business stalwart died July 29. Louise Miles Evans, 84, died at her residence on Tayson Road.
She was the daughter of the late John and Inez Stamper Miles and was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Evans, and a son, Sam Evans.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Carroll Crouse and Sandy Carter and Paul Herndon, all of Sparta. Sister Ann M. Edwards of Sparta also survives. A complete list of surviving family members appears in her obituary, which is on Page 9 of this week's edition.
