Commissioners OK sign ordinance

On a 4-1 vote, the Alleghany County Board of Commissioners approved an off-site sign ordinance regulating all such signs measuring more than 32 square feet (4'x8') on Feb. 18.

CARES earns statewide honor

Alleghany Christians Associated for Relief and Emergency Services (CARES) was presented with one of 20 medallion awards received in the state for outstanding volunteer service.
