On any given evening, one could expect to run into a traffic jam in
most cities. However, heavy traffic is not something to which most

who lives about four miles from N.C. 18, has been putting on an
expansive Christmas light show for several years now.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS—William Bottomley's Christmas display on Glade
Valley Road is a tourist attraction on the northern end of the
county. Bottomley's display includes about 60,000 animated lights, an
FM radio broadcast and even a live Santa Claus on Saturday nights.
