Press Release - Public Forum on Wind Energy Held in Mitchell County

Sparta Halloween festivities announced

This year a No Tricks, Just Treats Carnival is being planned from 6 to 8 p.m., Halloween night, on Main Street between NC 18 and Cheek Street. Plans are to set up a bounce house and an inflatable slide.

Local residents are invited to take part in a new trunk or treat event, vendors will setup to provide concessions and Razor's Edge Skatepark Project will set up to provide free skating and an evening finale demonstration of skating skill.

Main Street will be closed at 5:30 p.m. to give everyone time to set up. It will reopen around 8:30, or whenever the street is cleared. "We have a number of new activities for youngsters that will be provided in a safer environment this Halloween," Barbara Lucier, Main Street coordinator, said.
