Festival sees record attendance
From Staff Reports
Festival-goers filled Sparta's Main Street Saturday in what some are
calling the largest Mountain Heritage Festival ever.
"Several people have told me it was the biggest festival that they
remembered," Bob Bamberg, director of the Alleghany Chamber of
Commerce, said. "This is my fourth festival as Chamber director and
this is the first time we had to turn vendors away because all of our
90 booth spaces were taken. We had a few vendors to sell out."
The chamber plays host to the annual event, which spans Main Street
from Cheek Street to Doughton Street.
