LABOR DAY RELAXATION-The Blue Ridge Parkway saw numerous visitors during the Labor Day weekend, which marks the traditional end of summer. The weather cooler than usual for this time of year, with highs in the 70s on Saturday and Sunday, making for great weather to spend some time outside in the mountains.

Alleghany Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Bamberg noted that Stone Mountain State Park, New River State Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway appeared to be well used over the weekend.
