Water deal gets County approval

The Alleghany County Board of Commissioners were the final local board to approve an optional buy-in for a water project that would supply water to two towns drawn from New River by a 4-1 vote at their meeting on July 16.

Agreement reached in Huber/Billings suit

According to a report of the mediator in the civil matter of Alleghany resident Frances R. Huber versus former Alleghany resident Thomas “Tommy" Billings, the parties have reached an agreement on all issues and the case has been voluntarily dismissed with prejudice.
