The members of the Alleghany County Board of Education, sans board member Betsy Dillon, approved an interim budget resolution on June 29 for the 2007-08 fiscal year, which began July 1.
In terms of the expense budget, the schools received $2,328,153, which is about a $210,000 ($210,506) increase over last year's allocation of $2,117,647. Meanwhile, in terms of the capital outlay, the commissioners allocated $568,269, which is the allocation amount required by the state.
The budget resolution, presented by Finance Officer Cindy Holder,
noted that the board would not be able to adopt a final budget
resolution until after July 1.
