PARADE FUN-Despite cloudy skies, rain held off until after the Sparta
Independence Parade on Saturday. The event featured about 64 entries.
In the photo at left, Larry Atwood of Sparta entered his horse and
buggy in the parade. In the photo above, Edgar Miller of the Ennice
community smiles at the crowd as he drives by on his patriotically
decorated antique Ford tractor.

The Annual Independence Day Parade held last Saturday was a success,
organizers said, as crowds lined the Main Street corridor to watch a
variety of homemade entries file along the parade route.
The annual event typically is held on the Saturday closest to, while still prior to, July 4.
The theme of the parade was "Music is our Heritage” and the Crouse
House Pickers collectively served as grand marshals.
