A tax rate of 43 cents per $100 valuation for the 2007-08 fiscal year was approved June 26 by the Alleghany County Board of Commissioners.
The members of the Alleghany County Board of Education, sans board member Betsy Dillon, approved an interim budget resolution on June 29 for the 2007-08 fiscal year, which began July 1.
