The North Carolina Press Association has announced that Candice Groce, graphic artist for The Alleghany News, is the winner of two press awards in Community Division B of the 2007 Best Ad Contest in statewide competition. She won first place in two categories: Best Institutional Ad and Best Full Color Institutional Ad.
Ron Brown, The Alleghany News general manager noted, "This is the first year Candice has been recognized by her peers, and considering the fact she has been on staff for less than a year, we're extremely proud of her recognition and accomplishments. Candice brings a fresh look to ad design and her professionalism and talent in creating eye pleasing effective ad layout is evidence of our commitment to our advertising clients."
He added, "I congratulate her on behalf of the entire staff and management."
Groce, along with other winners, will be honored at a ceremony this
Friday at The Omni Hotel in Charlotte.
