MEMORIAL SERVICE-Members of the Bruce Wayne Osborne Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post No. 7034 held their annual Memorial Day service-a
tribute to soldiers who have given their lives in the service of
their country- Sunday afternoon at the Alleghany Courthouse.
A wreath
was placed in front of the memorial on the courthouse lawn and red,
white and blue flowers-symbols of purity, remembrance of the fallen
and eternity-were placed on a wreath at the memorial. In the photo at
left, John Irvin places a white flower on the wreath. Following the
service, the men performed a 21-gun salute (above) and Thomas Hamm
played "Taps" on the bugle.
