The N.C. School Report Card was released Jan. 30 by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, providing parents, educators and others a "one stop shop" to gain information on how schools and school districts are performing in several measures.
The measures include acts of crime and violence, attendance rates, enrollment figures and teacher quality information. Other points in the report include information involving schools that met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), end of grade test results and school performance. To attain a school's report card in its entirety, go online at www.ncreportcards.org.
In a welcome letter written by Alleghany County Schools'
Superintendent Jeff Cox, he commented, "Our community has a lot to be
proud of as far as our schools are concerned."
