Tree of Lights display is Nov. 25th at Hospice

Donations are currently being accepted by Hospice of Alleghany from individuals interested in remembering a loved one by placing a light in their memory on the Hospice 'Light Up a Life' Christmas tree. Hospice is asking for a $5 donation for each individual represented on the tree that will be displayed outside the local Hospice facility located on West Doughton Street beginning Nov. 25.

The funds that are collected through the annual effort will be used to provide care and supplies for Hospice patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

Individuals who contribute to the cause are reminded the people whom they choose to honor or remember do not have to be a Hospice patient, or even live in Alleghany County.

The Tree of Lights will be lit during a ceremony and open house to be held at the Hospice facility beginning at 6 p.m., Dec. 11. A Remembrance Service is scheduled to be held that evening at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home beginning at 7 p.m.

To make a tax-deductible contribution, send a minimum donation of $5 and include information including whom you wish to remember or honor.
