Woman, 18, murdered on Grandridge Road in Sparta

An 18-year-old Cleveland, Ohio woman was murdered Saturday at a home on Grandridge Road in Sparta following what may have started as an early morning domestic dispute with her boyfriend. Amy Devon Reese died from multiple stab wounds to her left side and her boyfriend, Enrique Hernandez Soto, 42, of Cleveland, is facing a murder charge.

The two came to Alleghany County on July 6 after arriving in Wytheville, Va. by bus and were staying with Ms. Reese's family—they had come to the area to visit Ms. Reese's mother.

Sheriff Mike Caudill of the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office said the murder occurred at 199 Grandridge Road sometime between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Caudill noted that Reese was killed in the basement of the home.
