Cruising to the Hop

Mountain Top Cruisers held their cruise-in and sock hop at the Alleghany Fairgrounds on Saturday. More than 50 cars were on display in the afternoon hours and the dancing to ‘50s music lasted from 6 p.m. until around 8 p.m.

In the photo above left, some of those in attendance dance to "Wooly Bully" with classic cars in the background. In the photo at right, Ron Farmer of Sparta (far left) shows off the engine of his 1940 Ford Coupe to 11-year-old Brandon Cohen (foreground) and Amber Lincoln and David Cohen, all of Dawsonville, Ga.
