On a unanimous vote, the Alleghany Board of Commissioners agreed to move forward with a referendum for the Alleghany Public Library on Monday night.
A middle school referendum was put on hold after school officials requested the move.
The Alleghany County Board of Commissioners was presented a budget plan on May 31 that includes a seven-cent tax increase.
