Second suspect charged

The Alleghany County Sheriff's Department released the name of the second suspect in a murder investigation on Tuesday evening. Warrants have been issued and are on file at the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office for Billy Joe Bare, said Sheriff Mike Caudill.

Bare, who is 26 years old, will be charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Juan Jose Castro Lopez, said Caudill. Also charged with murder in the incident is Lonnie Dale Love, 33, of Pine Swamp Road in Sparta. Love was charged on May 22.

Caudill said the shooting took place near Lopez's rented residence on March 20. Lopez' body was found May 6 near the rented mobile home.
