Businessman and Glade Valley resident Ronnie Woodie has officially given notice of appeal to the decision rendered in the civil matter Bill Leslie et al versus Ronnie Woodie, individually and as owner of Highland View Motorsports Inc.

According to the document filed in the Alleghany County Clerk of Court Office, Woodie has attained the counsel of Winston-Salem attorney J. Clark Fischer with the firm, Randolph and Fischer. Last July, neighbors filed a suit against Woodie, claiming the use of his mother-in-law's property "interferes with the use and enjoyment of the property of (the) plaintiffs and other persons who reside in the area."

During the April 24 through April 27 civil trial, the plaintiffs were represented by Norwood Robinson and Rebecca Miller and defendant Woodie represented himself. Eleven of the 12 jurors agreed that Woodie and Highland View Motorsports Inc. "substantially and unreasonably interfered with the 50 some residents' use and enjoyment of their properties."
