Phil Trew with Region D Council of Governments updated council members on the Sparta Pedestrian Transportation Plan during the May 2 meeting of the Sparta Town Council, noting the recommendations for the plan are divided into three parts, facilities, program recommendations and policy recommendations.

Trew told council members that he, with the assistance of a steering committee, have worked on the plan for about a year.

The three-tiered project is slated to be completed over a 25-year time span and has an estimated $1.8 million price tag.
