A Virginia woman who recently resigned as mayor of Virgilina has been hired as director of elections for Alleghany County.
The announcement on the hiring of Kate Trott Cosner was made Tuesday by Board of Elections Chair Ed Adams. “She was our first choice and we are most happy to have her,” said Adams. “We think she is going to be an asset to our work.”
Cosner is replacing Karen Fender, who quit the post last month to
pursue a career in the construction industry. Fender had been with the
board of elections for nearly 10 years.
