Don Suggs, area director/chief executive officer for New River Behavioral HealthCare Local Management Entity, has assigned the duties of deputy director for New River to Pam Andrews. Andrews has been employed with New River Behavioral HealthCare since June of 1987, and has worked for approximately eight years as director of outpatient services for Alleghany County and as director of CAP-MR/DD Services for Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Watauga and Wilkes counties. Andrews is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has a Masters Degree in Agency Counseling from Appalachian State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor.
In her role as deputy director, Andrews will assist Suggs in leading
New River Behavioral Healthcare’s process of redesign. Andrews will be
working directly with other local management entities (LMEs) and the
N.C. Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and
Substance Abuse Services to implement programs and develop business
relationships that continue to fully enhance the quantity and quality
of consumer services in the area.
