“Property Rights Protection Ordinance” unveiled Monday

A document titled “Property Rights Protection Ordinance” was delivered to the Alleghany County Planning Board Monday night by a citizen group known as the land use planning committee that was given the task of preparing a countywide land use plan.

SBI helps department better secure evidence

According to a release from the N.C. Department of Justice, the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, at the request of Alleghany County Sheriff Mike Caudill, is working with the sheriff’s department to improve procedures for handling evidence and to make the department’s evidence room more secure.
