Four West Virginia residents have been charged with breaking into five area churches.
The church break-ins, which took place between Sept. 25 and Oct. 16, resulted in less than $100 taken, said Det. Bryan Maines of the Alleghany Sheriff’s Department. However, damage resulting from the suspects entering the churches amounted to more than $2,000, Maines pointed out.
Charged with the crimes are Rosalie Ann Workman, 23, Harlen Clay
Workman, 26, Donna Smith Church, 20, and Jerry Wayne Church Jr., 25.
Workmans are from Bluefield and the Churches are from Princeton.
All four were being held on similar charges at Beckley Southern
Regional Jail on charges that they broke into churches in West
Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina.
