Renovations at the Alleghany County Courthouse got under way in
December. So far, workers have completed demolition work to the back of
the buidling, removing the old jail area and other rooms in the top
floor of the building. In addtion, the exterior of the brick building
is being re-grouted and sealed for a waterproof finish. Work is
expected to be done on the building by this fall.
