Choose and Cut events planned this weekend

Visitors and residents alike have several Yuletide events, from the annual Choose and Cut event to the Singing Christmas Tree, to choose from to keep them busy this weekend.

Christmas Crafts

The Christmas Crafts Fair, scheduled to be held Dec. 3 from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Emerson Black Exhibition Building at the Alleghany Fairgrounds, will host about 30 vendors. According to Bamberg, the fair will include pottery, stained glass, baskets, jewelry and Christmas items, such as wreaths and decoration items.

Singing Christmas Tree

The Singing Christmas Tree will perform at the First Baptist Church of Sparta on Dec. 2, 3 and 4, with each performance beginning at 7 p.m. “It’s always such a nice traditional celebration,” Alleghany Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Bamberg said of the Singing Christmas Tree. “They do such a good job. It’s well done and it’s something a wide variety of people can enjoy."
