The Alleghany High School Chorus prepares to perform during a cermony
honoring veterans that was held on Nov. 10.

Veterans were honored during two Veteran’s Day ceremonies held at the schools last Thursday; Alleghany High held its ceremony at 10 a.m., while Glade Creek held its ceremony at 1:30 p.m.
In addition, a special ceremony also was held Sunday morning at New Covenant Church on N.C. 18 in the Ennice community.
During the high school’s ceremony, students Laura Brooks, Emily Busic
and Brandon Hawks presented their speeches of what freedom means to
them. Meanwhile, separate musical patriotic tributes were conducted by
the members of the high school choir and the high school band.

at Alleghany High School. Schools were closed on Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
