The members of the Alleghany County Board of Education made the decision to allow Pinnacle Architecture of Matthews to put the eight classroom addition at Sparta School out to bid during an Oct. 27 called meeting.
The bidding process will serve to give the board solid numbers on the cost of the proposed eight-classrooms and multipurpose room addition to the south side Sparta School.
Chairman Charles Joines noted that the 30 days the project would be out
to bid would allow new Superintendent Jeff Cox to “get a start on a
long-range plan on which way we’re going” as a school system.
