Three men seek two council seats in election on Tuesday

Mayor John Miller will be running unopposed in the town’s Nov. 8 municipal election again this year, but three are vying for two seats on the Sparta Town Council.

School Board to seek bids on new Sparta School expansion

The members of the Alleghany County Board of Education made the decision to allow Pinnacle Architecture of Matthews to put the eight classroom addition at Sparta School out to bid during an Oct. 27 called meeting.
