A Glade Valley man netted a probation violation for attempting to tamper with a drug urine test and was later charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, a felony, after authorities searched his house and found drug-making equipment.
Capt. Carlton Edwards of the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Department said deputies and probation officers found items used in manufacturing methamphetamine after they searched the home of Randy Clifford Crouse, 46. Crouse, who lives at 4363 Ridgeglen Road, remained in custody Tuesday under a $25,000 bond. He was arrested Monday after authorities filed warrants following a search of his home on Friday, Sept. 30.
Edwards said authorities found a hot plate, coffee filters, acetone,
cold medications and various quart jars filled with two-layered
chemical liquids and plastic tubing, among other items. A warrant
stated that Crouse possessed “chemicals and components necessary to
manufacture methamphetamine.”
