Woodie files response to neighbors’ lawsuit

The civil case against Glade Valley businessman Ronnie Woodie is set to go to trial April 24, 2006, according to a document filed Sept. 23 in the Alleghany County Clerk of Court Office. In the case of Bill Leslie et al versus Ronnie Woodie, Woodie is being charged individually and in his capacity as owner of Highland View Motorsports Park.

The plaintiffs will are being presented by Norwood Robinson with Robinson and Lawing in Winston-Salem. Woodie is being represented by John T. Kilby with Kilby and Hurley in West Jefferson.

The document also notes the deadline for the completion of the mediated settlement conference is March 19, 2006.

Defense Response

The defense responded for the first time in a document filed at the courthouse Sept. 16.

According to the document, the defendants ask that the plaintiffs claims for relief be denied; the cost of the action be taxed against the plaintiffs, including attorney’s fees if allowed and authorized by statute; for such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper.
