INDEPENDENCE, Va.—The members of the Virginia/Carolina Water Authority were sworn in by Judge Collin Campbell on the steps of the Grayson County Courthouse Sept. 30.
The swearing in constitutes the official incorporation of the authority that has been meeting as a committee for about three years, said Sparta Town Manager Bryan Edwards, who is serving as the chairman of the authority.
Following the ceremony, the authority met briefly to elect officers, consider bylaws and establish regular meetings.
Edwards was elected as chairman; Kenneth Vaught, town manager of
Independence, Va. was elected vice chairman; Alleghany County Manager
Don Adams elected treasurer.
