County may zone out asphaltThe Alleghany County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Sept. 13 at 6:45 p.m. to discuss adopting a second moratorium on polluting industries. Anyone may attend the meeting, which will be held at the county office building at 90 South Main Street in Sparta.Suspects in store larceny arrestedFour Charlotte men who were wanted in connection to a larceny at a local convenience store were arrested Monday in Hillsville, Va. attempting to do a similar act there, according to information from the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Department.
