Two events are planned for Saturday in Sparta, including the annual Open Youth Horse Show and the Alleghany Wellness Center’s Ridge Ride. Ridge Ride
The second annual Alleghany Ridge Ride will begin on Saturday with a 7:30 a.m. registration at Alleghany Wellness Center.
As of early this week, 15 riders were pre-registered, with anticipation of more signing up the day of the event.
The 50-mile route will leave the Wellness Center at 9 a.m. and proceed
along Collins Road to N.C. 18, followed by the Sparta Parkway (U.S. 21
bypass), Grandview Drive then Main Street (U.S. 21 south). The bikers
will follow U.S. 21 to Chestnut Grove Church Road, then head to N.C.
18, followed by Pleasant Home Church Road.
