Burlington man, 54, dies in U.S. 21 motorcycle collision

A 54-year-old Burlington man was killed in a collision on U.S. 21 Sunday at 11:06 a.m., according to a report by Trooper S.R. Grizzell.

Two file for seats on council

Two Town of Sparta incumbents filed for re-election on July 1, the first day that filing opened for the Nov. 8 municipal election in Alleghany County.

Six people indicted on federal charges
