Demolition Derby is cancelled

A demolition derby that had been planned for Saturday night has been cancelled, said a spokesperson for the Alleghany County Fair Committee. According to Alleghany Cooperative Extension Service employee and Alleghany County Fair Committee member Michele Hamm, the event has drawn interest, but many of the drivers have not submitted their applications to participate.

“Without their entry forms in hand, we just couldn’t be sure we’d have enough entrants to put on the event,” Hamm said.
