CARES hosts fashion show, after-hours event

When people hear the names Gloria Vanderbilt, Calvin Cline and Gap, in most cases, the first thing that comes to mind is a mall.

In this case, however, these are brands of clothing that can be found locally at low prices at the thrift shop operated by Alleghany Christians Associated for Relief and Emergency Services (CARES).

The not-for-profit agency displayed the different clothing lines that are available during a fashion show held during their open house and business after hours event last week. All of the items displayed at CARES come to the store through donations.

“We thought it would be entertaining, CARES director Mitzi Biggins said.
