Despite a presentation on three options to regulate a proposed lawn mower racing track in the Mountain View community, the only option to stop the track that was presented before the Alleghany County Board of Commissioners did not involve the county.
Alleghany County Superintendent of Schools Duane Davis announced his retirement after a closed session Monday night during a called meeting of the Alleghany County Board of Education. Davis, 59, said he announced his retirement after a year of pondering the decision.
