A spokesperson for the Ferguson Group appeared to have the support of local officials at a joint meeting of the Alleghany County Board of Commissioners and the Sparta Town Council Monday night.
Also at the meeting were Bill Ring, acting county manager of Grayson
County, Va. and Kenneth Vaught, Independence, Va. town manager. They
were there to hear discussions on a joint water project and also to
hear the pitch by Ferguson Group spokesperson Leslie Mozingo.
Mozingo, who lives in Clemmons, is a spokesperson for the Ferguson
Group, which is a lobbying firm that specializes in representing local
governments. The Ferguson Group has offices and about 36 employees in
Washington, D.C., said Mozingo.
