A Sparta woman was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with numerous felony drug warrants after what Sparta Police Department detectives are describing as a lengthy undercover operation in town.

Det. Lt. Wayne Crouse said Donna Faye Reeves, a local physicians assistant (PA) was arrested on Dec. 22 after about two and a half months of undercover work by the department. Also participating in the bust were Det. Tim Bartlett, the Jonesville Police Department and Chief Greg Pratt and his K-9 with the Project Life Saver Unit. Crouse said that information for the case was first uncovered by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

“The undercover operation revealed the illegal issuance of prescriptions for controlled substances and the sale and delivery of controlled substances, mainly the drug Oxycontin,” said Crouse.

“Oxycontin seems to be the choice of prescription drugs for abuse by illegal drug users and drug sellers, which should only be obtained through a legitimate doctor visit and prescribed by a physician.
