Strengths and weaknesses of the schools in the state were highlighted in a recently released report.
Per a proclamation made by Governor Mike Easley, Nov. 16 was designated as North Carolina School Report Card Day. The report cards are broken down into four categories, providing a school profile, high student performance; safe, orderly and caring schools and quality teachers.
This is the third year of the distribution of the report cards, noted Alleghany County Schools Test Coordinator Frank Busic, who added that the information had already been reported from an accountability standpoint.
“We’re just pleased that the state was able to compile all the data that the public may be concerned interested about,” Busic said.
A full report can be found online at www.ncreportcards.org.
These report cards are provided for schools, alternative, charter and
public, that were open during the 2003-2004 school year.
